MANSEHRA: A man committed suicide on Friday evening after he reportedly failed to convince his parents to propose to the family of the girl he wanted to marry. The police quoted family sources as saying that Naveed Akhtar, 21, a resident of Morbaffa village, wanted to marry a girl from the same village. He had asked his parents to send a proposal on several occasions. However, his parents kept delaying the proposal. On Friday, he repeated the request, asking his mother to visit the girl’s parents. Upon her refusal, he went into a rage and shot himself with a 30 bore pistol, seriously injuring himself. He was taken to King Abdullah Teaching Hospital, where he died before he could receive any medical assistance.
