A passenger was killed and 12 others were injured on Saturday, eight of them seriously, when an Abbottabad-bound passenger van turned turtle on Hazara Road near Panian village.
Eyewitnesses and Kotnajibullah police said that the “recklessly-driven” passenger van (LGX-9951) was coming from Rawalpindi with 45 passengers on board. The driver lost control while negotiating a turn near Panian village and the van overturned after crashing against a roadside wall.
The seriously injured Parveen, Zubaida, Sosanjan, Sabra, Muhamamd Ibrahim, Ajaib Khan, Muhammad Riaz and Malik Alla Dita were shifted to Ayub Medical Complex Abbottabad in critical condition. Four passengers who received minor injuries were discharged from the hospital after getting first aid, police said.
The identity of the deceased had not been ascertained till the filing of this report.
