RAWALPINDI:

Former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi had a moment of turmoil on Friday as he was briefly barred from flying abroad after being told that his name was placed on the no-fly list.

However, after clearance, Mr Abbasi was allowed to proceed with his travel plans to China.

According to the details, the former premier and his wife arrived at Islamabad Airport to board a flight to China, CZ 6008.

While going through immigration clearance, he was informed that his name was on the stop list as per the orders of the Sindh court.

Consequently, he was told that he would not be able to continue his journey, forcing him to return from the airport lounge. However, later he was reassured that the situation would be resolved shortly, allowing him to travel.

However, when contacted to inquire about the incident, Mr Abbasi denied any disruption and mentioned that he had already departed for China.

On the other hand, when the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) immigration authorities were approached for comment, no response to the message or call was received.Home vertical 3 and pak (NATIONAL PAGE)
