Cites refusal to allow marriage with suitor

KHUSHAB:

A woman has confessed to having murdered her father with the help of an accomplice who wanted to marry her.

The murderers had initially attempted to present the death as a result of suicide.

Police had begun investigations into the case two days back, after the death of the man in the Bagh Shams Deen village.

According to Naushera police, they had received information that Ahmed Nawaz Awan had committed suicide by shooting himself.

SHO Zohaib Hasan reached the spot along with his team and interrogated the victim's daughter, upon which she disclosed that she had killed her father along with Muhammad Asim and attempted to portray the incident as suicide.

The police registered a case against Asim, his father Mohammad Iqbal and the daughter of the deceased, Mehwish, on the complaint of his cousin Maqsood Awan.

The investigators said Asim wanted to marry the daughter of Ahmed Nawaz. However, the victim had refused to marry his daughter to the suspect.
