Nigerian national among two netted

Their modus operandi involved enticing innocent people with offers of friendship

The FIA Rawalpindi Cyber Crime Circle has apprehended two suspects, one of them a Nigerian national, in connection with online fraud and cheating. During an operation conducted in Lahore, the authorities arrested the suspects identified as Muhammad Hamdan Sindhu and a Nigerian national, Theodore.

According to a spokesperson for the FIA, the accused individuals had been involved in creating fake Facebook profiles in the names of women to deceive unsuspecting citizens.

Their modus operandi involved enticing innocent people with offers of friendship, gifts, and money.

Initially, they would lure victims with various messages offering gifts, eventually extorting substantial sums of money from them in the guise of customs clearance and other fictitious reasons.

A case has been registered against them and an investigation is underway.
