CM to open Pakistan Literature Festival tomorrow

SUKKUR:

Sindh Chief Minister Justice (retd) Maqbool Baqar will inaugurate two-day ‘Pakistan Literature Festival 2023’ at IBA Sukkur campus on October 28. This was announced at a press conference jointly organised by the Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi and IBA University Sukkur.

Distinguished figures, including ACP President Ahmad Shah, VC of IBA University Sukkur Prof Dr Asif Ahmed Sheikh, and Sukkur Mayor Barrister Arslan Islam Sheikh, were in attendance.

Ahmed Shah emphasised the role of the ACP in promoting the rich cultural heritage of Sindh with the aim of bringing together individuals from various segments of society.

Shah commended the services of ACP Sukkur President Mumtaz Bukhari and expressed gratitude for the cooperation of IBA Sukkur, believing that the Pakistan Literature Festival in Sukkur would surpass the success of Lahore, sparking a high level of excitement among students.

VC Dr Asif Sheikh recounted the pivotal moment when he learned that the ACP was organising the Pakistan Literature Festival in Sukkur.

Dr Sheikh believed that this event would be the most significant programme in Sukkur after Karachi.

He noted that the family-friendly festival would feature diverse sessions on literature, journalism, education, discussions on Sindhi literature, mushaira, musical performances, besides various other activities.

He mentioned that Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori would attend the closing ceremony of the festival.
