Suspected car lifter netted in Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI:

In an incident that unfolded in the Gulistan Colony, Lane No 7 area of Rawalpindi, a suspected car thief found himself in police custody following a shootout with a police team on Tuesday.

A police spokesperson said the incident transpired when a police team was on a routine patrol and received information about three suspicious individuals tampering with parked vehicles in Gulistan Colony, Lane No 7. When they arrived on the scene, the suspects opened fire setting off a shootout.

One of the suspects sustained injuries during the exchange of gunfire, while the other two managed to evade capture. The spokesperson also revealed that the apprehended suspect has a criminal history involving more than a dozen car theft cases.

In addition to his arrest, the police recovered weapons and stolen motorcycles.
