SARGODHA:

A woman and her alleged lover were killed apparently in the name of honour allegedly by the brother and a cousin of the slain woman, police said.

The police arrested the suspects.

Police said that the slain woman had been married off by her family against her will a few weeks ago.

She could not bear to live with a man who she had not wanted to marry, and soon she walked out on him and returned to her home to live with her parents, police said.

They said that the deceased had been in a relationship with one Ahsan Qasim before her marriage.

Both of them wanted to get married, but the woman’s parents refused to allow her to marry Ahsan.

Moreover, they forced the woman into a marriage against her wishes.

However, the woman could not forget her lover, nor did Ahsan forget her, police said.

No sooner had Sana walked out on her husband than Ahsan arrived in her village, called the Village 50 Northern, from Khushab, and the two started seeing each other once again.

Relatives of the woman forced her into ending her relationship with Ahsan but to no avail.

Police said that it was during their most recent rendezvous that the woman’s brother, Adil Pervez, and a cousin of hers spotted them, police said.

They said that Adil Pervez allegedly shot her sister and her friend dead on the spot with the help of his cousin.
