The upgradation and renovation of the Benazir Bhutto General Hospital (BBH)’s OPD and Psychology department has been accelerated after the visit of Punjab caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi with January 31 of the next year being set as the deadline for the completion of the project.

According to official sources, the upgradation and renovation work of the 116-bed emergency department at BBH has already been completed for Rs55 million.

The project for the upgradation of the first floor of the hospital's OPD and the ground floor of the psychology department at a cost of Rs13.3 million is currently under way.

BBH MS Dr Tahir Rizvi has said that the condition of the first floor and ground floor of the outpatient department and the psychology department of the hospital had become dilapidated, due to which, the upgradation and renovation of these two departments had become inevitable.

Emergency patients now have access to the best environment, sanitation, and all other facilities, he said.

Dr Tahir Rizvi said due to the upgradation and renovation project of Holy Family Hospital, a plan is being prepared by the heads of all departments and the administration regarding the influx of patients to BBH so that the patients do not face any difficulties and the provision of quality treatment facilities.
