‘Sewerage system requires overhaul’

Hyderabad Development Authority Director says it is needed to combat challenges posed by climate change

Hyderabad Development Authority Director General Zahid Hussain Shar has stressed on the need to revamp the city’s sewage system in a contemporary manner to effectively combat the challenges posed by climate change in the coming years.

“During the process of adopting new solutions, it is crucial to bear in mind the valuable lessons we have learned from the past. The ongoing projects must be expedited to provide the residents of Hyderabad with the maximum relief,” he added while presiding over a meeting on Friday, which focused on the ongoing development projects within the Water and Sanitation Agency’s (WASA) Development Wing.

Key attendees included Managing Director of WASA Anjum Saeed, Consultant Shafi Muhammad Lakho, Director of Finance and Commercial WASA Syed Mohsin Nazar Jafari, Mayor Hyderabad’s Focal Person for HDA Affairs Noor Muhammad Talpur, and other relevant officials.
