SIALKOT:

With winter on the horizon and amid massive inflation, people are visiting Landa Bazaar to purchase second-hand shoes, wool clothes, jackets and children’s clothes. The bazaar, established on the footpaths of Railway Road, Allama Iqbal Chowk and Aalam Chowk, continues to attract people from humble backgrounds.

Every winter, thousands of people visit these bazaars to purchase items for themselves and their families. Despite a considerable increase in the prices of second-hand items, people still find them affordable compared to new items, which have experienced an unprecedented increase in prices. During a survey of some shops, it was found out that inflation and poverty were forcing more and more people to opt for used clothes.

"My purchasing power does not allow me to purchase new items," said father of five Usman Hameed while talking to media persons at a Landa shop situated on Railway Road. During a visit to all bazaars, it was observed that people mostly buy second-hand shoes, sweaters, jackets and other clothes to keep themselves warm during winter.
