KARACHI:

The Sindh High Court (SHC) issued notices to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) headquarters and the FIA Regional Zone, Sindh on a petition moved by five women sub-inspectors, challenging the provisional seniority list.

Moving the SHC through their lawyer Hasan Mandviwalla, the petitioners contended that the FIA’s provisional seniority list, which had been released on Jan 25, 2023, counted their service from a date in 2010, instead of their joining in 2007.

They said in the petition that the seniority of their batch-mates had been counted from 2003, therefore, their seniority should also be counted from the date of their appointment.

The petition stated that the FIA’s seniority list of Jan 25, 2023 was in violation of Article 25 of the Constitution.

The court issued notices to the FIA Headquarters and FIA Zone Sindh, directing them to remove the objections of the petitioners until the next hearing on Nov 29, 2023.
