HARIPUR:

The Khanpur tehsil administration Friday took action against fuel stations near Haripur Degree College for violating the rates approved by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) and sealed two of them.

This crackdown came as a response to complaints from the public.

According to an official statement, the Khanpur assistant commissioner also imposed fines on five individuals involved in overcharging customers. In an effort to ensure fair pricing, the assistant commissioner inspected various bazaars to verify price lists.

Additionally, visits were made to various transport hubs in the sub-division of Khanpur to enforce reduced fares.

In the neighbouring Panian area, the additional assistant commissioner-II of Haripur conducted inspections of several fruit and vegetable stores, as well as bakeries, under the instructions of the Haripur deputy commissioner.

Legal action was taken against two retailers who disregarded government directives.
