KARACHI, PAKISTAN:

The Raabita Committee of Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQM-P) has strongly condemned the unreasonably extended power outages imposed by K-Electric in Karachi. In a statement, the party leadership said that the people of Karachi are already struggling with increasing inflation while the load-shedding and excessive billing, is adding more to their hardships.

Meanwhile, NEPRA is being criticised for consistently raising electricity rates, further burdening the public.

The Raabita Committee asserted that K-Electric is imposing significant charges on citizens in their bills while demonstrating inadequate efficiency. Despite reaping substantial profits and collecting substantial bills, Karachi continues to experience extended power cuts. MQM Pakistan rejected the various explanations provided by K-Electric regarding load-shedding. It urged the utility company to address line losses and enhance productivity rather than burdening citizens with exorbitant electricity bills.

Furthermore, the Raabita Committee warned K-Electric authorities to refrain from oppressive practices and not to test the patience of Karachi's residents.
