ISLAMABAD:

For the first time ever in Pakistan, the National Highways and Motorway Police have started issuing CE category driving licences for the public.

In the context of driving licences, CE refers to a specific category or class of driver’s license that allows the holder to operate certain types of vehicles, typically large or heavy.

CE driving licences include combinations of vehicles and trailers with a combined maximum authorised mass of more than 750 kilograms.

According to the Bureau of Emigration & Overseas Employment, Pakistani drivers will increase foreign remittances by around $52 million per annum from KSA. Moreover, a CE professional driver can earn around $3,500 per month in Europe.
