Sana Javed has returned to our TV screens with drama serial Sukoon. Directed by Sirajul Haq, the love story sees her opposite Ahsan Khan, playing the quintessential Sirajul Haq heroine. Many can’t help but also notice her transformation—she has visibly shed a few pounds. And in a recent interview with Nida Yasir on a local TV channel, Sana candidly discussed her weight loss journey and how she balanced her health and performance for the latest project.
Ahsan, who was also present on the show, playfully mentioned how Sana barely ate anything during the day. “You look so thin, so skinny, what’s going on Sana what are you eating?” asked Nida, to which Ahsan quickly replied, “She’s actually not eating anything. The whole day passes by and this girl doesn’t eat anything!” Amused, Sana answered, “Firstly, thank you, because this means all the hard work that I’ve been putting in is paying off. Secondly, I do eat, but only healthy things.”
Ahsan went on to mention all the snacks in her room, to which Sana clarified that those are brought for her but not part of her diet. She further emphasized the effectiveness of intermittent fasting. “When we’re on set and I go into Sana’s room, there are these packs of biscuits, chips, nimko, fruits, and I wonder why because she doesn’t eat anything,” said Ahsan. “I actually don’t eat any of that. They just bring these things for me. I think intermittent fasting works for me," Sana replied.
Nida further inquired whether the actor always works on her weight like this before a serial, “No, I don’t. But it was important this time, I feel, because I was getting quite overweight. I felt that.” Sana added that she accepted the serial because it’s a commercial drama, provided that her recent roles have all been based off of scripts meant to tackle various societal issues.
When asked about the importance of looking a certain way for a character, Sana shared, “I didn’t used to care before, I always focused on the performance. But after this drama, I realized that one needs to really work on their looks. What you wear, how you talk, all of that shapes the character, builds it.”
Sukoon’s supporting cast includes Khaqan Shahnawaz, Sidra Niazi, Atiqa Odho, Usman Peerzada, Laila Wasti, Nida Mumtaz, Qudsia Ali, Adnan Samad Khan, and Aehsun Talish. The drama, written by Misbah Nosheen, promises a love story infused with the signature drama and romance that Sirajul Haq is known for. The first episode aired recently, setting the stage for an enthralling storyline.
