KARACHI:

The Sindh health department has suggested to the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) to re-conduct the MDCAT entry test on November 19.

Sindh Health Minister Dr. Saad Khalid Niaz said that the candidates will not be required to pay fee again for the re-test. Sharing his opinions with media representatives on Saturday at the Karachi Press Club during a discussion regarding MDCAT, the caretaker health minister stated that we must tell the public about an important issue today. There are a lot of parents and applicants for the MDCAT that are impacted.

We apologize, but certain decisions must be made since the MDCAT 2023 paper was leaked. The applicants who benefited from the leaked paper received outstanding scores. An inquiry committee was formed in this regard. The investigation committee has confirmed that the paper had been leaked, and we advised the caretaker chief minister of Sindh to approach the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in this case. MDCAT is a matter of future of more than 40,000 candidates. A violation of merit is one of its irregularities. Although it is wrong to re-examine candidates, it is even more unfair to deny talented candidates their right to get admission to the medical colleges.
