Gas cylinder blast injures elderly couple in Malir

The condition of the injured couple is reported to be stable

KARACHI:

An elderly couple residing in the Gulshan-e-Qadri, Malir, sustained injuries in an explosion caused by a gas leak from the cylinder.

The incident occurred within the jurisdiction of the Malir City police station. The gas leak ignited a fire, resulting in shattered windows and property damage within the residence. The elderly husband and wife endured burns as a consequence of the explosion. Promptly, they were transported to the Civil Hospital where they were identified as 70-year-old Yasin, son of Abdul Salam, and his 60-year-old wife, Nusrat.

According to the police, the couple was using a gas cylinder in the kitchen which had a leakage and caused an explosion. The condition of the injured couple is reported to be stable. An ongoing police investigation is underway to ascertain further details regarding the incident.

Pizza shop blast

The CCTV footage capturing a devastating gas leak-induced explosion at a pizza shop within a residential apartment complex near Maskan Chowrangi in Gulshan-e-Iqbal has been revealed.

The incident occurred on Monday morning, as depicted in the footage. The explosion's sheer force is evident from the video, resulting in the widespread scattering of shop goods and the immediate presence of concerned citizens following the blast. Four individuals sustained injuries, and significant damage was done to the shops, vehicles, and valuable properties.
