FCA set to fix targets for Rabi crops

Convene on October 11 to review output of major and minor crops during Kharif sowing season

ISLAMABAD:

The Federal Committee on Agriculture (FCA) will meet on October 11 to review the output of major and minor crops during Kharif sowing season and fix production targets for Rabi 2024 crops to meet requirements of the country as well as export to overseas markets.

“The high-powered committee, which will meet under the chairmanship of Minister of National Food Security and Research Dr Kausar Abdullah Malik, is mandated to oversee strategic measures for ensuring food safety and security,” said a senior official of the food security ministry.

Talking to APP on Monday, the official said that the meeting would also be attended by senior officials of provincial food and agriculture departments, State Bank, ZTBL, National Fertiliser Development Centre, Pakistan Meteorological Department and Indus River System Authority.

The major objective is to enhance coordination to consolidate gains and ensure progress in all sectors of agricultural development.
