Admissions to government and private medical and dental colleges in Punjab will be conducted from October 16 to 31 through the online portal of the University of Health Sciences (UHS).
The decision was made during a meeting of the Provincial Admission Committee chaired by Punjab Specialised Healthcare and Medical Education Secretary Ali Jan Khan and attended by the vice-chancellors of a public sector medical universities of the province.
UHS Vice-Chancellor Ahsan Waheed Rathore briefed the committee on the admissions process.
The committee members visited the UHS Admission Cell and expressed satisfaction with the preparations. It was decided that admissions to both government and private medical colleges would commence from October 16.
Applications for medical and dental colleges are required to be submitted separately through dedicated online portals.
The provincial secretary emphasised the importance of centralised admissions to private medical colleges for transparency and merit-based selections. He called for measures to expedite the admissions process and enhance the bandwidth for online applications system.
