Man ‘stages wife’s murder’ as suicide
A woman was found hanging at her residence in the Dhok Gangal area of Rawalpindi on Sunday, with her brother accusing the brother-in-law of murder.
According to the first information report (FIR) registered at the Airport police station by the victim’s brother Ali Raza Khokhar, the victim had been married to Farrukh Imtiaz Khokhar for the last 14 years. The couple had four children with one of them having passed away.
On Sunday morning, he was informed by another cousin – who had been informed by Farrukh’s mother – that his sister had been found hanging in her room. He rushed to her residence, which was nearby, where he and his cousin found his sister’s body hanging from the ceiling fan.
The complaint stated that Farrukh would regularly berate and threaten his wife including death threats.
The complainant said that he had received a threatening call from Farrukh a few hours after finding out about his sister’s death. He told me that I was next, the FIR quoted him as saying implying a death threat.
The FIR alleged that Farrukh was responsible for staging the murder as suicide.
The body was shifted to the hospital for post-mortem with murder cases registered against Farrikh, his brother and others.
