KARACHI:

The Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) is launching a comprehensive digital portal in a bid to facilitate the students and their colleges.

The online portal will enable the entire process of examination and publication of results, including submission of application forms.

In this forward-looking initiative, all the necessary forms and procedures will be made available to students through their respective colleges, eliminating the need for them to physically visit the board office.

Chairman of the Board, Prof Naseem Memon, while talking to The Express Tribune at BIEK office in Karachi, highlighted the challenges students faced in the past. As part of this transformation, the board is introducing an online automation system designed for the convenience of students.

To facilitate this, students will receive login credentials, with their college principals also holding access.

Subsequently, students will complete their exam forms online, with confirmation slips being sent directly to their colleges. Furthermore, the publication of results will also shift to the online platform.

This comprehensive system will encompass various aspects, including enrolment as well as submission of examination forms and supplementary forms. The online platform will also help college administrators to access all student information with just one click.

Chairman Memon also elaborated on the examination process, outlining the rigorous steps involved. This process includes bundling, washing, codification, and result compilation. A critical aspect is ensuring that no student’s identity is revealed to the teacher assessing the answer sheets during this process.
