Prominent Kashmiri leader Syed Yasin Andrabi dies

He played pivotal role in promotion of Kashmir cause in Arab world, America

MUZAFFARABAD:

A prominent Kashmiri leader Syed Yasin Andrabi, 85, passed away in Islamabad on Friday.

He was the son-in-law of the former President of All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference AJKMC and senior minister Pir Ziad Din Andrabi.

The deceased arrived in Pakistan from Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir IIOJK when he was a 13-year-old boy who wanted to see Pakistan.

He studied in Lahore and joined the Public Health department in Azad Jammu and Kashmir AJK.

Andrabi played a pivotal role in the promotion of the Kashmir cause in the Arab world and America.

He worked for the United Nations UN in the public health sector in Azad Jammu and Kashmir and later shifted to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s KSA’s Health Ministry where he served in various capacities for more than three decades.

The deceased left one son and three daughters behind who are settled in Canada and the United States of America.

He was buried in family Murree graveyard on Friday.

President Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz PMLN-AJK chapter Shah Ghulam Qadir, AJK minister Abdul Majid Khan and Head of Health Sciences Department of the University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Dr Bashir Kanth paid glowing tributes to deceased Andrabi and termed him the asset of the State of Jammu and Kashmir and brave son of soil.

Both the leaders also prayed for the deceased family members to bear this irreparable loss of precious life.
