PESHAWAR:

Peshawar is witnessing a concerning surge in cases of seasonal fever, cold, cough, and pneumonia, primarily due to the changing weather patterns and environmental pollution, health officials said on Wednesday.

The officials have reported that children and the elderly are particularly vulnerable to pneumonia, which has seen a significant rise.

Private clinics, hospitals, and street doctors in the city have reported a substantial increase in patients seeking treatment for colds, coughs, and pneumonia.

The changing climate has led to a higher number of school-going children and elderly individuals falling prey to illnesses.

Health experts have revealed that the number of cold, cough, and pneumonia cases has more than doubled in recent times.

Concerned by the gravity of the situation, medical professionals are strongly advising individuals to get vaccinated for the flu.

As the weather turns colder, health experts have urged the public to be cautious and take preventive measures to safeguard themselves from these ailments.

The measures, coupled with vaccinations, can play a crucial role in reducing the risk of contracting cold, cough, and pneumonia.
