ISLAMABAD:

The Federal Shariat Court (FSC) has fixed for hearing a review petition related to PTI chairman Imran Khan’s married life.

A three-member bench headed by FSC Chief Justice Iqbal Hameedur Rahman will hear the review plea on October 2.

The other two judges on the bench are Justice Khadim Hussain M Shaikh and Justice Dr Syed Muhammad Anwer.
The FSC had dismissed a petition filed by Shahid Orkazai on February 7, 2022 declaring it as non-maintainable with an observation that it was “not filed in accordance with the Federal Shariat Court (Procedure) Rules 1981”.

The petition sought a decree against Imran’s marriage on the basis of 10 questions related to Islamic laws and constitutional provisions.

The court noted that some questions were “absurd, derogatory and absolutely irrelevant”, while two were “ambiguous, inconceivable and not understandable”.

However, Orkazai filed a review appeal against the court’s decision.
