In a resolute commitment to safeguard Pakistan's economic interests and enhance security, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir declared that law enforcement actions against a wide spectrum of illegal activities will intensify, working in unison with law enforcement agencies (LEAs) and government departments.

General Munir made this announcement during his visit to Lahore, where he participated in a pivotal meeting of the Provincial Apex Committee, along with Caretaker Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Raza Naqvi.

During the Apex Committee meeting, General Munir received a comprehensive briefing on the prevailing security situation, with a particular focus on law enforcement actions targeting electricity and gas theft, hoarding, and foreign currency smuggling.

The forum also delved into the measures taken to protect minority communities and the progress of ongoing operations in the Kacha area. Additionally, the committee reviewed the repatriation of illegal foreign nationals.

Emphasising the unyielding commitment to curb illicit activities, General Munir stated, "Law enforcement actions against a spectrum of illegal activities will continue with full force in collaboration with LEAs and the concerned government departments to rid Pakistan of the substantial economic losses caused by pilferage through various methods."

The committee was also apprised of the progress on two critical initiatives, the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) and the Green Punjab programme.

General Munir underscored the necessity for synergy among all relevant departments to ensure the successful implementation of these landmark initiatives, stressing their potential to contribute significantly to Pakistan's economic growth.

Participants in the meeting affirmed that state institutions, government departments, and the people are unified in their commitment to the progress and prosperity of the province.

Upon his arrival in Lahore, General Munir was warmly received by Commander Lahore Corps, further reinforcing the collaborative spirit within the security establishment.

General Munir's declaration signals a renewed and unwavering resolve by Pakistan's security forces to combat illegal activities and secure the nation's economic interests, ultimately working towards a more prosperous and stable Pakistan.
