PIA flight experiences technical issue
A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight faced an unexpected incident when it was promptly recalled to Jeddah Airport shortly after takeoff on Wednesday. The reason behind the aircraft's smoke alarm activation remains unknown.
The Boeing 777 aircraft, en route to Sialkot, had departed from Jeddah with 375 passengers on board at 3:50 am on Wednesday. However, while cruising at altitude, the aircraft's smoke alarm system was triggered.
In response, the pilot requested permission to return the plane to Jeddah Airport. The airport's technical team conducted a thorough inspection of the aircraft, which lasted for one and a half hours. Subsequently, they cleared it for continued flight.
Unfortunately, this incident caused inconvenience to the passengers and resulted in a delay of over 3 hours. Flight PK746, originally bound for Sialkot, was redirected to Karachi instead. After a crew change, the passengers were later transported to their intended destination of Sialkot.
