ABBOTTABAD:

In a move to combat drainage challenges plaguing the Ayub Medical Complex (AMC), Chairman of the Board of Governors, Mushtaq Khan Jadoon, has set the wheels in motion by creating a designated committee to repurpose 400 Kanals within the hospital's precinct.

AMC's backyard has converted into a dense forest and has been grappling with drainage channels that have caused damage to its infrastructure. Responding to this issue, Chairman Mushtaq Khan Jadoon, along with Dr Omar Farooq from Ayub Medical Complex, conducted a site visit.

The primary objectives were to explore the feasibility of transforming a significant portion of the land into a park while simultaneously addressing the long-standing drainage problems. Mushtaq Khan Jadoon stressed that the creation of a park would serve a dual purpose. Not only would it offer a recreational environment for the community, but it would also act as a protective shield for the hospital against rainwater-induced damages.

He emphasised that the establishment of the park would not only benefit the medical staff, including doctors, paramedics and nurses but also provide a spacious and comfortable setting for patients and their families. Moreover, it would play a crucial role in safeguarding the hospital infrastructure from water-related issues during seasons of heavy rainfall.
