SC forms five benches for next week

395 cases of various civil, criminal, and tax natures had been scheduled for hearing

Five benches of the Supreme Court would take up nearly 400 cases next week, according to the cause list published on the apex courts’ website on Friday.

According to the list, the five benches for the judicial week from Sept 25 to 28, would be led by Chief Justice Qazi Faiz Isa, Justice Sardar Tariq Masood, Justice Ijazul Ahsan, Justice Yahya Afridi and Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhel.

It said that 395 cases of various civil, criminal, and tax natures had been scheduled for hearing before these five benches. These include the Faizabad Dharna review case, which will be taken up by Chief Justice Isa-led three-member bench on Sept 28.

The highest number of cases, 160, had been fixed before a two-member bench led by Justice Sardar Tariq Masood, while the chief justice-led bench would hear 55 cases. The remaining three-judge benches would take up 60 cases each.
