K-P caretaker chief minister praises GIKI as academic stronghold

PESHAWAR:

Caretaker Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Azam Khan emphasized the urgent need to enhance the qual­ity of higher education in Pakistan and align it with the evolving demands of the modern era.

He stressed that pro­moting higher education should not merely involve establishing new univer­sities but should also pri­oritize improving the skills and content of the curricu­lum to meet the country’s requirements.

He further highlighted the necessity of increas­ing graduates’ employ­ability and harnessing the potential for the export of Pakistani human resources to industrialized nations.

Chief Minister Azam Khan made these remarks as the chief guest at the in­duction ceremony for the 33rd batch of the Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology in Swabi during his visit to the institute.

Azam Khan extended his congratulations to the newly enrolled students and urged them to em­brace the vision and values of the prestigious institu­tion. He encouraged them to strive for excellence in all aspects of life by upholding and advancing high moral standards.

He emphasized that education goes beyond textbooks and lectures; it involves character develop­ment and the responsibil­ity of being a good citizen and a good human being. Azam Khan referred to the youth as the future of Pakistan and highlighted their immense potential to overcome challenges and achieve remarkable feats. He stressed that every young student has the ca­pacity to shape the future of humanity and make a positive impact on soci­ety, the economy, and the environment.

He stated that these stu­dents would soon become researchers, innovators, en­trepreneurs, and industry leaders capable of address­ing complex challenges and contributing to Pakistan’s economic development.

He encouraged them to prepare themselves effec­tively to confront future challenges and serve the nation with honesty, integ­rity, and dedication.

The Chief Minister ex­pressed great confidence in the potential of the univer­sity and its students, hop­ing that they would carry the conviction that they can make a difference, shape the future, and leave a lasting legacy through their work.

He also highlighted the increasing number of female students at the Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute each year and praised the institute’s ef­forts in this regard. He urged female students to continue employing their talents and skills through­out their lives.

Regarding the institute’s high education standards, Azam Khan described the Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute as a national asset and a source of pride for Pakistan.

He noted that it is inter­nationally renowned for excellence in engineer­ing, sciences, emerging technologies, computer sciences, data sciences, management sciences, and other disciplines. He antici­pated that in the coming years, the institute’s con­tributions would signifi­cantly expand in various fields, both nationally and internationally.
