Former Sindh home minister Zulfiqar Mirza should be allowed to testify against the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) in court, said Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Syed Munawar Hassan at an Eid event on Thursday.
He explained that Mirza should not go to court on his own but be invited by the five-member Supreme Court bench led by Chief Justice Iftikar Muhammad Chaudhry to testify in the suo moto case that is under way. He added that the Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) would appear in court if it would help the case.

Zulfiqar Mirza said after facing difficulties prophet (pbuh) migrated to Medina but I am high tech, I will not migrate. Was not the insult of the prophet (PBUH) ?
We did not hear any thing from Jamat Islami on his statement. Why???
And I thought JI will demand something more Islamic like justice for all .But as usual of Jamate Islami ."Rassi Jal Gaai ,Ball nahi Gayee "
Having lost their electoral base to MQM a long time ago Jamaat e Islami seems to be still nursing its' wounds. It would be nice to see such an organized and well-structured ideological party as the Jamaat to something productive and fruitful than to take pot-shots at other political parties. There are so many issues in the society which the political parties are not equipped to handle, and which can be more effectively handled by these religious parties: Jahez, illiteracy, lack of sanitation and cleanliness, bribery and corruption. These are all issues where there are strict commandments in Islam and religious parties will serve the masses well by taking these issues. If they are successful in dealing with these issues public will repose their confidence in them by electing them for political seats too.
