ISLAMABAD:

The Supreme Court Registrar Office has returned a petition challenging the trials of civilians in the military courts after raising objections to it.

Petitioner Col (retd) Inamur Rahim had requested the apex court to declare the trials held during the tenure of the PTI chairman null and void.

The registrar office objected that the petitioner had not pointed out what questions of public importance in the case were involved with reference to enforcement of any fundamental rights guaranteed under the Constitution.

It further said that the petitioner had not mentioned for what purpose the plea had been filed with the top court.

It objected that the petitioner had not approached any other appropriate forum under the law for relief and did not provide any justification for not doing so.
