‘Corrupt’ CDA officers netted in FIA’s dragnet

Suspects were rounded up after their bail applications were dismissed by the court

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA)’s Corporate Crime Circle Islamabad has apprehended four officers and officials of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) in connection with a case involving the preparation of counterfeit files and illegal allotment of plots.

According to sources, the suspects were rounded up after their bail applications were dismissed by the court.

The individuals taken into custody include former Assistant Director Inayattullah, former EMO Aftab Jaffri, Dealing Assistant Mukhtar Ali Solangi, and Gurdawar Muhammad Shiraz.

Meanwhile, bail pleas for two other officials of the CDA’a revenue department, Waqar Khan and Fakhar Abbas, were dismissed as the applicants did not follow up with the court proceedings.

All of the implicated officers and officials stand accused of forgery and fabricating land records of Sector D-13/3, issuing counterfeit allotment files, and producing fake NDCs for various plots.

Deputy Director L&R Irfan Ahmed, the then additional director E&A Taimur Ahmed and former diary dispatch clerk Waqar Ali have also been nominated in the FIR of the case. The accused have collectively been charged with colluding to inflict huge financial losses on the public exchequer.
