Police arrest man, nephew in housemaid, daughter rape case

Assault proven in preliminary medical examination of survivors after which both suspects were arrested

Police claim to have arrested a man and his nephew, who allegedly raped a female domestic worker along with her 12-year-old daughter in the Dhok Budhal area of Rawat police station, after six days of the incident.

According to police sources, accused Ishtiaq Ahmed had given the poor woman a job and residence along with her children in return for a monthly salary of Rs13,000.

The accused raped her multiple times during two weeks of employment while his nephew, Saqlain alias Kino, also raped the 12-year-old daughter of the female domestic worker.

Police said the assault was proved in the preliminary medical examination of the victims following which both suspects were arrested and the DNA matching process was initiated.

According to FIR number 1498 of 2023, registered in the Rawat police station, complainant Muhammad Irshad alleged that accused Ishtiaq gave a job to his wife and allowed her to keep the children at the bungalow. His wife along with her 12-year-old daughter and two sons shifted to the house of the accused two weeks ago.

The complainant said the accused had given his wife employment against a monthly salary of Rs13,000 rupees. “My wife said the accused raped her several times in the last two weeks while his nephew, Saqlain, also raped our 12-year-old daughter,” the complainant told the police.

Upon receiving the complaint, the police got the medical examination of both victims conducted and the sexual assault was proved during the preliminary medical examination.
