A former police volunteer barged into a house in Dhok Syedan, Ghaziabad Road, killed a man and injured his wife, son and fled after committing the crime.

The police said that the killing took place over a monetary dispute. They added that Amjad Kayani killed Omer Sharif and injured his wife Ulfat Bibi and their son Azaan.

After receiving information about the incident, the police reached the spot and shifted the body and the injured to the hospital.

The police said that teams have been dispatched to arrest the accused.

On the same day, police arrested 18 drug dealers and recovered more than 30 kilogrammes of drugs from their possession.

Separate cases have been registered against them and further investigation was in progress.

City Police Officer Khalid Mehmood Hamdani said that the arrested accused will be challaned with concrete evidence and will be punished. He added that the crackdown against the drug mafia will be continued to eliminate drugs.

On the special instructions of the Chief Minister Punjab, the noose of the drug dealers, and drug traffickers is being tightened without any discrimination, he said.
