Malala Yousafzai, the youngest Nobel Prize Laureate, rubbed shoulders with A-listers Wednesday night at Caring for Women gala. With a star-studded list of attendees, including Kim Kardashian, Nicole Kidman, Karlie Kloss, Linda Evangelista, and Julia Garner, to name a few, the dinner was set to raise money for three organizations, comprising Malala Fund, the National Network to End Domestic Violence (NNEDV), and the New York City Alliance Against Sexual Assault.

Among the c-chairs of the event were Kering chairman and CEO Francois-Henri Pinault and his Hollywood icon wife Salma Hayek, actor and singer Zoë Kravitz, artist Cindy Sherman, model and humanitarian Christy Turlington Burns, filmmaker and actor Olivia Wilde, world-renowned television personality Oprah Winfrey, and Pakistani activist.

Malala left spectators, social media users, and paparazzi awestruck as she stepped out on the streets of Manhattan dressed from head-to-toe in custom Bottega Veneta. Styled by celebrity stylist Dena Neustadter Giannini, the 26-year-old Nobel Peace Prize winner looked gorgeous in a deep, forest-green dress.

The maxi-length gown was stitched in a luxurious silk fabric that exuded a subtle sheen and was paired with black, patent leather, crocodile skin, and knee-length boots by the Italian luxury fashion house. Save for some gold-button detailing at the sleeves and wide, subtle pleats along the skirt of the dress, the gown was free of adornments and seemed to channel the minimal but classy aesthetic for the black-tie event.

Malala stayed true to her fashion preference for modest wear as she donned a beautifully draped matching green headscarf that fell in elegant folds around her face and revealed portions of her jet-black tresses as they were expertly made-up in the popular Hollywood waves hairstyle. The simple yet sophisticated look was accessorized with a gold statement ring and a matching, forest green, signature Bottega Veneta knot minaudière clutch.

While the ‘Caring for Women’ dinner is essentially a charity event, many celebrities turned up to the event in designer couture and beautifully crafted runway pieces to represent the many fashion houses like Gucci, Saint Laurent, and Bottega Veneta that come under the umbrella of Kering-owned luxury goods companies.

Malala attended the dinner as a representative of Bottega Veneta but mainly as the face of her charity, Malala Fund, which works to support the cause of women’s rights and access to quality education. At this event, funds were being collected to support Afghan organizations in their efforts to provide women in Afghanistan with alternative forms of education and advocate for the reopening of women’s educational institutions amid the Taliban’s ban on women’s education.
