Malka Hans Police Station arrested a man, Muzammil, on charges of having killed a five-year-old girl.
Five-year-old Adan Fatima of Dhapai village had gone missing 21 months ago.
When her heirs did not find her after a hectic search, they registered a case of abduction against unknown persons with the Malka Hans Police Station.
The complainant, Arshad, was an uncle of the deceased. But despite the passage of 21 months, Adan Fatima could not be found. The deceased’s uncle, Arshad, suspected his neighbour Muzammil and shared his suspicion with the police. The DPO of Pakpattan, Tariq Wilayat, ordered Malka Hans Police Station to arrest Muzammil and interrogate him.
On the orders of the DPO, the SHO of Malka Hans Police Station, Malik Faisal, arrested and interrogated Muzammil, who allegedly confessed to killing the child.
The child was killed allegedly over a grudge the suspect held against the child’s mother. Police said the suspect had allegedly lured the child by giving her some biscuits and then he took her with him on a motorcycle, killed her and threw her body in Pakpattan canal.
