Pakistani long-range shooter Mohsin Nawaz has achieved a remarkable feat by winning a silver medal at the highly competitive European Long Range Shooting Championship 2023, competing against participants from 18 countries, including world champions.

Nawaz reflected on the moment he realized he had secured the silver medal, saying, "When I realized I had won the silver medal, it was a mix of relief and exhilaration. Shooting is a battle against your own practice and the control of your nerves. This silver medal represents the culmination of my hard work and focused practice."

Competing against such elite competition required extensive preparation, and Nawaz shared insights into his rigorous training regimen, stating, "I followed a demanding training schedule that included countless hours on the shooting range, refining my skills, and perfecting my equipment. Mental preparation was equally vital. It's about trusting your practice and maintaining composure under pressure."

A standout moment in Nawaz's journey was his record-breaking performance at the 800 yards Bisley National Record. He recalled the specifics of that achievement, saying that reclaiming the 800-yard Bisley National Record with a score of 75.13 V points was a moment of immense pride. “Consistency in match performance is crucial. I focused on maintaining a clear mind and emotional control during matches," he said.

Representing Pakistan on the global stage filled Nawaz with pride and honor. For aspiring shooters in Pakistan, he offered words of encouragement, saying, "Shooting offers a path to international recognition through mental strength and emotional stability. I encourage everyone to step into this arena, represent our country, and aim high."
