PML-N’s youth outreach ahead of Nawaz’s return

Campaign to highlight ex-PM's contributions and counter PTI ‘propaganda’

In a bid to regain political relevance and reconnect with the masses, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has decided to begin a public awareness campaign targeting youth in anticipation of party supremo Nawaz Sharif’s return to the country.

According to sources, the party has issued specific directives to its ticket holders to actively participate in the youth outreach campaign. Former parliamentarians, local government representatives, and office bearers have also been tasked with informing the "new generation" about the remarkable development projects accomplished during Nawaz Sharif's tenure.

Party members have been urged to establish stronger links with their respective constituencies, focusing particularly on engaging the youth.

The PML-N, sources said, has instructed the party members to highlight the former prime minister’s contribution towards “putting an end” to electricity load-shedding, taking effective measures against terrorism and paving a network of motorways and roads across the country.

The party has also passed directions to “remind” people of the former PM’s contribution to agriculture, the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), employment and laptop schemes and the establishment of new universities.

The party members have been told to “expose the PTI’s propaganda” against PML-N and former
PM Nawaz, while focusing on the PML-N supremo’s “love to return” despite “worst revenge politics” during 2017 and 2022.

The campaign is aimed to mobilise the maximum number of people to welcome the former prime minister on his return.

The youth outreach campaign comes at a time when the party is gearing up for elections, reconnecting with younger voters and trying to sway public opinion ahead of the party supremo’s anticipated return.

While many dates have been dropped about his imminent return, uncertainty still abounds around Nawaz’s homecoming.

The former prime minister and his brother, Shehbaz Sharif, who has been in London since August 20, has discussed key political developments with the elder Sharif in the run-up to the general elections.

The PML-N president also recently said that his brother will be returning to Pakistan in October this year.
