SHC seeks report on missing persons from federal ministry

Muhammad Ali, others have been missing for a decade

KARACHI:

The Sindh High Court (SHC) has instructed the Federal Ministry of Interior and Defence to compile information from its subordinate institutions and provide it in response to pleas for the safe return of Muhammad Ali and others who have been missing for a decade.

The Investigating Officer (IO) informed the court that 24 sessions of the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) related to the recovery of the missing individual, Muhammad Ali, were held. This case is categorised as an enforced disappearance.

Furthermore, the court has mandated that the Provincial Task Force meetings and JIT sessions related to missing persons should continue.
