Anti-encroachment drive expanded
The Rawalpindi district administration's ongoing anti-encroachment operation has now expanded its scope to encompass four additional tehsils, including Kahutta and Kotli Sattian, after its initial focus on Murree.
According to officials, this operation aims to remove encroachments on large swathes of government land. District administration teams have taken measures such as the installation of fences and placement of ownership boards on these government-owned properties.
Officials from the district administration have indicated that this expansion of the anti-encroachment operation comes on the heels of its successful execution along the Murree Expressway. Similar actions are now underway in Kalar Syedan, Kahota, Kotli Sattian, and Gujar Khan.
In the recent operation, personnel from the tehsil municipal corporation utilised heavy machinery to dismantle encroachments in Kallar Syedan's Main Bazaar and along the primary highway.
They said in these areas, influential business figures had unlawfully seized government land and were subletting it to others. These businesses had unlawfully occupied the land, which has now been reclaimed.
Similarly, illegal shops and stalls along Kahutta Bazaar and Taxila-GT Road have been removed
