Crackdown launched against oil smuggling

RPO Khan and Commissioner Dr Mehmood suspended all personnel at Sakhi Sarwar check post

Regional Police Officer (RPO) Captain (retd) Sajjad Hasan Khan and Commissioner Dr Nasir Mehmood jointly launched a crackdown against the smuggling of Iranian oil on Wednesday.

Commencing the initiative on the orders of Chief Secretary Punjab Zahid Akhtar Zaman and IG Punjab Dr Usman Anwar, the RPO and Commissioner visited Quetta Road and thoroughly inspected numerous vehicles from Rakhi Gaj crossing and Sakhi Sarwar check post. Multiple vehicles carrying Iranian oil were confiscated during this operation. Punjab Police and BMP SHOs were immediately summoned to the scene.

RPO Khan and Commissioner Dr Mehmood suspended all personnel at Sakhi Sarwar check post for failing to stop a truck loaded with Iranian oil from passing through. Additionally, orders were issued to DSP Saddar to provide an explanation and DPO Dera Ghazi Khan was tasked with replacing all staff at the Post, issuing charge sheets and conducting a formal inquiry.

DPO Dera Ghazi Khan Hasan Afzal, Deputy Commissioner Mahershah Zaman, Political Assistant Kohe Sulaiman Mushtaq Towana and other officials were present during the operation.
