As Pakistani starlet Kinza Hashmi becomes the face of Rahat Fateh Ali Khan’s heart wrenching music video for Mere Ho Jao, the actor is joined by Bollywood favourite Karan Wahi. However, it seems that the music video is not the only thing tying the two actors together. The artists shared their camaraderie with fans on the day of the infamous Pakistan vs India cricket match this past Saturday.

While it is no secret that the rivalry between the two countries in the name of cricket knows no bounds, quickly bringing together the masses to engage critically in a sports match like no other, the duo took a moment to bring to light the importance of a friendship beyond borders.

On September 2, while the countries cheered for their respective teams from opposite corners, the actors shared pictures with each other, cheering for their respective teams together. Hashmi sported a green jersey while Wahi wore a blue one.

The Dill Mill Gayye actor took the opportunity to quell the rivalry between the two nations, reminding his followers of how the gap between Pakistan and India was to exist only to the extent of cricket. He captioned, “India & Pakistan, the VS only exists in cricket” with the hashtag “#maythebestteamwin.”

However, nobody can deny that the playful rivalry that cricket brings to both countries runs in everyone’s blood, and frankly, neither could the duo in question. Wahi reverted to cheering on his team as he playfully concluded, “dosti eik taraf aur cricket ka match eik taraf, jeete ga bhai jeete ga, India jeete ga (friendship aside, India will win).”

The Ranjish actor, in the caption of her own Instagram post, wrote, “bumping into neighbours Karan Wahi on this day! From talking about all our victories to moments before winning another one InshAllah.” She too continued to cheer for the Pakistani team: “Ye baazi khel ki baazi hai, ye baazi hum hi jeetaingay! Pakistan Zindabad.”
