Sajid Tareen Advocate has tendered his resignation from the position of Prosecutor General Balochistan, citing concerns over human rights violations under the caretaker government of the province. Tareen, who is also a central leader of the Balochistan National Party (Mengal), made the decision to step down on Friday evening.

Tareen was appointed as the Prosecutor General of Balochistan during the tenure of former Chief Minister Mir Quddus Bizenjo’s government. When asked about the reason behind his resignation, Tareen pointed to a surge in human rights violations in Balochistan following the establishment of the caretaker government in the province. He expressed the difficulty of continuing his role under the current government and emphasized that it was no longer feasible for him.

Tareen had served in the role of PG Balochistan for one and a half years, but he reaffirmed his stance that working within the current setup had become untenable for him.
