PESHAWAR:

With the onset of lower temperatures, the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Health Department has issued a warning for susceptible districts, cautioning about the potential escalation of dengue fever cases.

Statistical data reflects that Peshawar has reported 22 cases, Mardan with 13, Swabi with nine, and Chitral Lower with seven cases. Similarly, Bajaur has six cases, Kohat with four, and Nowshera with three.

Two cases have emerged in Dera Ismail Khan, Khyber, Abbottabad, and Lower Dir, while one case each has been recorded in Battagram, Hangu, Tor Ghar, Mansehra, Lakki Marwat, and Bannu.

The focal points of dengue cases appear to be Peshawar and Mardan districts, prompting a thorough oversight across all districts including the tribal regions.

The Health Department has communicated a directive to the district health officers of all Khyber- Pakhtunkhwa districts. APP
