ISLAMABAD:

Punjab's Caretaker Health Minister Dr Javed Akram has issued directives for the swift completion of ongoing construction work at Holy Family Hospital's Gynaecology Emergency Block.

According to officials, he also emphasised the establishment of a Sehat Sahulat Card desk and a Baitul Maal information counter.

During a comprehensive visit to the allied hospital in Rawalpindi, including Holy Family Hospital, Benazir Bhutto Hospital, and District Headquarters Hospital, Dr Javed Akram assessed various departments' operations.

Dr Akram interacted with patients receiving treatment at the dengue wards, OPD, emergency rooms, children's, gynaecology, and surgical ward. He inquired about the quality of treatment and facilities available for patients and their accompanying relatives.

The completion of the ongoing Gynaecology Emergency Block construction at Holy Family Hospital was underscored, as the minister highlighted the government's efforts to enhance healthcare services in public hospitals.

Efforts to elevate the healthcare standards across government hospitals were emphasised, and the provincial government's dedication to ensuring accessible health facilities was reiterated.

Dr Akram further stressed the need for enhanced medical support to dengue patients and commended the proactive measures undertaken to manage the dengue situation.

Despite increased rainfall this year, the implementation of preventive measures contributed to a controlled impact on dengue cases, he said.
