The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has invited the MQM-P and Jamaat-e-Islami for consultations on the upcoming general polls on August 28 (Monday).
According to sources, the commission will take opinions on the elections from the heads of the two political parties.
The ECP has already completed the process of consultation with the PTI, JUI-F and PML-N.
The delegations of the three political parties presented their proposals to the chief election commissioner and other members of the ECP.
The commission has called the PPP on August 29 to consult with it on the polls.

The heads of political parties have been called for consultations on the date of the general polls, publication of electoral lists, and fresh delimitation of constituencies.
The ECP has also decided to meet with the police chiefs, chief secretaries and provincial election commissioners of the four provinces in connection with the preparations for the general polls.
The commission has called a high-level meeting on the upcoming elections on August 29.
The police chiefs, chief secretaries and provincial election commissioners of Sindh and Balochistan have been instructed to attend the huddle.

The participants of the meeting will review the preparations for the upcoming general elections in the two provinces.
The commission will brief the Sindh and Balochistan police chiefs on the security plan for the general elections.
The chief secretaries of the two provinces will also be briefed on the administrative preparations for the general polls.
In a related development, the 11-day training of 29 newly inducted officers of the commission concluded on Friday at the Pakistan Electoral Academy for Research and Management located within the premises of the ECP Secretariat in Islamabad.
The training highlighted several crucial facets of the electoral process with seasoned and knowledgeable officials of the commission providing instructions to the newly inducted officers.
This training served to enhance the new officers’ understanding of the electoral framework.
During the closing ceremony, Additional Director General for Training and Gender Nighat Siddique congratulated the new officers.
She also encouraged them to apply the lessons learned during their training sessions.
It is worth mentioning that these officers also received training at the Civil Services Academy in Lahore.
