Pakistan acting as ‘bulwark’ against terrorism: COAS

International community must acknowledge immense sacrifices given by the country, says Gen Munir

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir on Friday said that Pakistan is acting as a “bulwark” against terrorism and the international community must acknowledge the immense sacrifices given by the country, the military said in a statement.

The army chief expressed these remarks during an interactive session with a group of 38 students from Harvard University, hailing from 9 different countries.

According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the students from the US university met with the COAS at General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi as part of their visit to Pakistan.

General Munir talked about regional security issues and the Pakistan Army’s contributions to promote peace and stability in the region.

The COAS highlighted the rich potential of Pakistan and urged the participants to perceive the country based on their experiences during their stay here.

The army chief underscored that Pakistan is acting as a bulwark against terrorism and the international community must acknowledge the immense sacrifices given by Pakistan.

He also highlighted the human suffering and atrocities being committed in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIJOK) and efforts to change the demographic realities.

The visiting students thanked the army chief for providing the opportunity for a constructive interaction.
