Caretaker Chief Minister of Sindh Justice (retd) Maqbool Baqar discussed the rehabilitation of displaced people of storm water drains of Karachi with the Caretaker Prime Minister Anwarul Haq during a meeting at the CM House on Wednesday.
The chief minister informed the PM that the affected people of Mahmoodabad, Gujjar, and Orangi nullahs were being rehabilitated forllowing the orders of the Supreme Court.
The CM further informed the PM that the provincial government has already launched a rehabilitation programme for the floodhit people.
This programme would be sped up in the wake that the winter is approaching and people need shelter.
The PM urged the chief minister to personally monitor the projects.
They also discussed the issues of interfaith and harmony among masses and agreed to bring people of different faiths across the table to foster brotherhood.
Islam is the religion of peace, brotherhood, and tranquility, the PM said.
The caretaker CM also discussed overall law and order and agreed to launch an operation against dacoits who have created unrest in the Larkana and Sukkur divisions.
The prime minister said that investment in the country, particularly in Karachi should be encouraged.
The chief minister said that he would provide all possible facilities to the investors in the port city.
