Karachi’s first dinosaur park inaugurated
The Karachi Mayor, Barrister Murtaza Wahab on Saturday inaugurated the newly-developed dinosaur park in Safari Park.
Talking to the media, the mayor said, it is the first state-of-the-art dinosaur park, established in Karachi.
He mentioned that the park spans an acre and stands out as a modern, educational place that captures the essence of the dinosaur era. This is Karachi's first and most extensive park dedicated to providing information about dinosaurs. It has been designated for families and students, featuring animated dinosaurs roaming within the park.
The mayor disclosed that the Sindh government contributed Rs100 million for the park's construction while the KMC undertook its development. The park showcases eleven dinosaurs and a dinosaur structure that brings lots of fun and entertainment for children and adults.
Mayor also mentioned that the zip line project will soon be made operational.
Meanwhile, he lamented the incidents of stealing grills and fences of parks by professional thieves. These thefts are mostly captured on CCTV cameras but no report is filed at any police station.
On the issue of open manholes, he said a factory has been established that produces sewer covers as part of a solution to address sewer-related issues across Karachi.
The event was attended by Deputy Mayor Salman Abdullah Murad, Municipal Commissioner Syed Afzal Zaidi, spokesperson for the mayor on political affairs Karamullah Waqasi, Senior Director Recreation Iqbal Nawaz, Safoora Town Chairman Ashiq Khaskheli, and many KMC officers.
